EQUINE FACILITATED
PSYCHOTHERAPY

Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) is a therapeutic modality where the gentle wisdom of horses becomes a catalyst for reflection, healing, and personal growth.

In sharing space with these beautiful and empathetic creatures, individuals can find solace and insight as they forge a unique connection. Through guided interactions with horses, EFP unveils profound therapeutic experiences, helping individuals navigate the complexities of their emotions, build trust, and foster resilience.

EFP has been proven to be a top treatment for those suffering from the effects of trauma, and can faciliate coping skills for those with depression, anxiety, and grief. Whether you're seeking a path to self-discovery or a holistic approach to healing, EFP offers a remarkable journey of self-awareness and empowerment, where the wisdom of horses serves as a guide to a brighter, more balanced future.

At Westbrook Counseling, Alora Wilder, M.Ed., PLPC offers individual sessions to clients 13 and older with her co-therapist Huck the Horse.

She also holds an adolescent EFP group every Wednesday at 4:30 for ages 13-18; please contact her for more information if interested.
